Insolate, formally known as Miss Sunshine, is a true techno veteran with 20 years in the scene under her belt. With releases on DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted label and her very own Out of Place brand, Insolate now moves on to Proletarijat with a significant release in more than one way. Proletarijat 005 is wholly dedicated to her grandfather who was a Yugoslav partisan during WWII.
As the black clouds of fascism once again form over Europe we must remember the ordinary men and women who sacrificed everything for the hope of freedom, or Sloboda if you will.
How infinitely frail this freedom is and how we’ll lose it all if we stop fighting. Ponos is a Croatian word for pride, but it’s also the name of the Greek god of hard labour.
And this is labour music – tough, proud and confident. We’ll certainly need it. We have lots of work to do.
